Comment: Beautiful route meandering through the foothills and touching the coastal region several times. At 103 miles and roughly 4400 feet elevation gain, this is a fairly easy century. The route is very well marked, SAG support is good, the organizers (Rotary Club) are very appreciative and really try extremely hard to please and support the riders. Rest stops have all the essentials to refuel without the frills. A worthwhile cause, an amazingly beautiful route and caring volunteers make this a great Century ride.Other: Garmin Ride Data
Location: Brentwood, CA Distance: 100.6 miles Elevation Gain: 3036 ft Time: 6h 22m Weather: sunny but brisk and windy Southern California winter day Comment: this is a relatively flat ride up the coast from Brentwood/Santa Monica to Port Hueneme, just south of Oxnard. The ride is a straight out and in, with the exception of a detour to Playa del Rey on the way back to get the mileage. An all around good long distance training route. The rides goes through rolling terrain for the most part, with the exception of the climb towards Casitas pass, which has an average 8% grade, with the occasional double digit incline for good measure.
