“The dictionary is the only place where success comes before work”. – Mark Twain
I am unsure if the above saying was whispered to me when I grew up, but it sure seems that I am living my life somewhere along these lines. Don’t get me wrong, I am not chasing success, but I do love the feeling of accomplishment when it happens. Just google “success sayings” and you will be rewarded with hundreds of them. Albert Einstein put a real good perspective on it by saying: “Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value“.
If the first paragraph did not give you any sense of my persona, here is a bit more. As I write this I wandered the face of this earth for half a century. Man, that sounds old, but funny enough, I don’t feel it. I grew up in Europe, lived on three continents and settled in the USA. The beautiful City of Los Angeles has been home for the past 20 years. My wife Sue and I met and married in 3 months and we are now together 23 years and counting.
The things important in our lives are our friends, our home, health and happiness and our four legged companions. With us is Shep, a German Shepherd, whom we got from Westside German Shepherd Rescue
Sue is now retired after having worked as a collection manager for UCLA and spends some of her free time volunteering for worthwhile causes. I am a Food & Beverage Operations Executive and still very much involved in the work force.
We enjoy our annual trips to the Eastern Sierra’s . A perfect place for fly fishing, backpacking, cycling or just kicking back and doing nothing. When in Los Angeles, I enjoy riding my bicycle, the occasional round of golf (FORE!!), work around the yard and house and my late 2008 MacBook Pro. When I have time I love to play with HTML, CSS, MySQL and PHP.
